The award-winning Encore Northenders Theatre Company will be taking to the stage this June performing the ever-popular sixties Musical, A Slice of Saturday Night, written by The Heather Brothers. Featuring a stunning live band recreating all those iconic riffs from the Swinging decade, A Slice of Saturday Night is a musical for those that missed the sixties… Or were there and can’t remember!

The time is around 1964 and the Club A Go-Go is where it’s at; the chatting-up, the boasting, the heartaches and the eternal embarrassment of teenage emotions! The girls; chalk-faced, pale lipped and lacquered to perfection are desperate to look like Twiggy, Sandie Shaw or Dusty Springfield. The lads in their button-down collars and leather caps are all would-be Beatles or embryo Donovans.

However, beneath the girls’ skimpy dresses and inside the lads’ cool, hipster trousers lurk the impulses which have driven adolescents to distraction since the dawn of time. A Slice of Saturday Night takes you spinning back, guaranteeing you fantastic live music, plenty of laughs, and a few reminiscent sighs along the way!
